K.W. Nasser Plaza

A world-class central plaza and water feature at River Landing, designed as a year-round civic space for residents, guests, office workers and commercial tenants.

Introduction

Located near the South Saskatchewan River, River Landing was emerging as one of Saskatoon’s premier destinations. Triovest, acting for the private development consortium, enlisted Nadi Group to design an innovative central plaza and water feature between three new towers.

Project summary

The client envisioned a high-value gathering place for hotel and condominium residents, as well as a year-round amenity for office and commercial tenants. Nadi developed three concepts informed by leading public spaces in Seville, Boston and Toronto.

Outcome

The design combined hard and soft surfaces, distinctive paving, native trees, plants and grasses, and public amenities including a feature trellis with café seating, a lawn with a water wall and mist, and a playful water area with sculptural seating. Nadi provided landscape architecture services and participated in design development through completion.
